Little Max and big Max came in for a series of family portraits.  Of course Mum, Suzie joined in as well.  Little Max was only 9 weeks old when he came in to our Balcatta studio and seemed pretty chilled out with the whole thing.  He was more than happy to snuggle with Mum and Dad before having a snooze on a variety of our cosy, warm blankets.  I just love the baby photo of Max with his shorts and matching shoes.  I swear I was never that coordinated when I was a child (possibly as the third child I ended up with a mixture of hand me down clothes!!).  Baby photography is never dull as you never know what level of ability your subject might be.  Some babies develop strength in their necks early, others seem to keep that newborn ‘curl’ longer than others.  Little Max did very well and judging from the look in this first photo I don’t think too much bothers him.  Just the kind of baby we love!!

Little Savannah was wide-eyed and ready to smile for the camera when she came in with Mum and Dad for their first official family portrait.  It was smiles all round for this occasion and the result is a beautiful family portrait ready for the wall. Four month old Savannah came to us through our partnership with Baby Expo.  Customers that purchase goods over $50 at Baby Expo are then given a free portrait session with Bliss Studio.  An excellent partnership that has seen some very happy people come to Bliss Studio to take up the free offer.  When new babies come along it is often such a hectic time that the time to find a quality photographer to capture all those early moments can slip down the “To Do List”.  So with our voucher we have made it very easy.  Simply call up to make your booking and that is all you need to do.  Savannah and her parents are two more happy customers and we look forward to following Savannah in later years.

Harley was a very relaxed little boy when he came in for his family portraits.  He looks so warm and cosy leaning against Dad’s chest in this first photograph.  Of course there were also a few moments when he wasn’t so happy to be photographed as you can see from the third photograph.  Personally I love the baby photos of them crying just as much as them smiling sometimes and think all of these expressions are just another way to capture your baby.  Dad was very proud to be holding onto his son and we got a full range of images of the two of them together.  At 7 weeks Harley no longer fits into the newborn photography section but for the most part he was certainly relaxed enough to be.  We finished off with Harley happily dosing on our cosy blanket.  We look forward to seeing Harley back not too far down the track for more family portraits.

We welcomed Albertas and Marie Louise to our Balcatta studio recently all the was from Madagascar.  They came in with their daughter, her husband and their beautiful children, Tamara and James.  Having three generations in the studio for a family portrait is always wonderful.  Big sister, Tamara, was very proud of her new baby brother and was happy to pose for a series of photographs with him.  I think the results are priceless.  At Bliss Studio we never hurry families through and ensure we give you lots of variety to choose from when it comes to your viewing session.  A different background can really change the feel of a photograph and can switch it from light and bright to soft and emotional.  Equally a change of clothes can also have a dramatic effect on a portrait which is why we always suggest you bring along a couple of different options and discuss with the photographer what might suit the portrait being taken.

Jethro came in with his Mum and Dad recently for a fun family portrait.  I just love the ones of Jethro playing on the blue chair.  I can almost see this in fast motion as he moves from one position to another.  I am sure his Mum would agree that this little boy likes to keep active.  Jethro, at times, was a little more wary of the camera as you can see from the second composite but with children photography the key is to having a whole range of toys on hand to get their attention.  As a result is didn’t take us long to get him smiling again.  His toothy grin is fantastic in the lower images.  With such happy smiles all round it wasn’t difficult to get a fabulous family portrait with Mum and Dad.  If only all our families who come into our portrait studio were to be so happy!!  Thanks Jethro for being such a great subject to photograph and we can’t wait to give Mum and Dad your final images for the wall.

Five year old Amelia and 2 year old James came in recently for a series of family portraits and sibling photographs.  Amelia had the most adorable smile teamed up with her bright patterned top she just radiated fun and excitement that comes with being a child.  Little James wasn’t to be outdone by his big sister though, and while a little cautious of the camera , he still managed to show us his personality as well.  Since buying a little red couch it has become a favourite amongst all the kids.  I think our portrait studio might be investing in a few different coloured ones to ensure we have one to suit everyone!!  I just love Amelia’s high side pony.  It adds a real element of cheekiness to her photographs.  When you come to our Balcatta studio it is always important to think of what you are all wearing so that the final image doesn’t involve too many different patters.  Children, like Amelia, can look fabulous in bright colours with lots of different shapes, however, we suggest adults stick with simpler or solid colours.

Sisters Samantha & Leigh came to our Balcatta studio to have a portrait before Leigh headed off to Switzerland to continue her career with the Swarovski company.  During the shoot I had been admiring Leigh’s gorgeous ring and when she told me where she worked it all fell  into place.  What a wonderful idea though to come in for a family portrait.  So often in our fast passed lives we don’t stop to really enjoy what is most important – family.  Samantha & Leigh obviously have a close relationship and I love the last two photos here of the two of them together.  It’s these type of portraits that are timeless and will be appreciated for years to come.

We welcome back the Swan family for their fourth family portrait.  We started on this portrait journey with them when Rochelle joined up for one of our Blissful Life Collections which includes pregnancy photos, newborn photography, and then family and children photos.  It is such a wonderful well to celebrate the start or continuation of a family.  Their gorgeous two boys, Joshua and Daniel, are now so used to being in front of the camera you would think they did this for a living.  It’s always great to have siblings in and we have a lot of fun choosing chairs to use or backgrounds that will really capture their personalities.  The three series you see below will be framed composites to complement the other composites from previous sessions.  While I love the bright colours of the first series there is something special about black and white that just draws you into the photograph.  ”People photography’ is all about capturing the true essence of someone and I think we have done this perfectly with the cheeky grins on both boys faces.  We look forward to continuing the journey with the Swan family in years to come.
